Hope everyone is well we are coming to the business end of the season with the first team virtually out of contention for the league title .

Having played the top two sides in the league recently and coming away with nothing after being the better side was hard to take but we didn’t lose our chance of league glory  against Hindsford and East Manchester we slipped up earlier in the campaign when the side was being moulded into shape . You would think their would be an air of doom and gloom around the camp but it is quite the opposite .

There  is a buzz around the club that we have not seen for a good few seasons . The 1st team has a vibrant mix of teenagers ,players in their early twenties and a couple of older heads ,and the football they are producing draws plaudits from everyone they meet . Only last Saturday after the cup game was called off we took on a virtually full strength Rammy side who are favourites to be in the Unibond league next term and ran them right to the wire, without a wonder save from Shenton in the last five minutes we would have earned a fully deserved draw.

We try this week to get the Gilcryst Cup tie with Stockport which is our only realistic chance of silverware this term .

With the emergence of so many young players in the last few months the reserves squad has a more experienced look to it messrs Connell Stewart Lomax and Telfer are keeping Mick and Kenny’s title dreams well and truly alive and hopefully they can bring home the bacon come May .

The A team have had a tough season but hope for some cup cheer   in the next few weeks .

The youth team have hit a rich vein of form since Christmas and are still fighting on 3 fronts Kev and Langy have progressed the team from last term and this bodes exceedingly well for the future of the club in general .

We will be welcoming Andy Pickford’s all conquering Under16 side into the fold next term Andy’s  team fly the clubs banner in the prestigious  LFA youth cup final in March up at FA Headquarters at Leyland in a night not to be missed .

The club is now moving forward at a rate of knots and   in our opinion we now stand head and shoulders above any amateur set up in the area with a large squad of the best young players this club has ever had .

Enough waffle good luck to everyone connected with the club in the final stages of the season there is still a lot to play for
