With the 1st team having no game the spotlight over the last seven days has fallen on the reserves who had taken top spot in the league with 3 games to play .
Thursday night saw them entertain East Manchester and by half time they had cruised into a 3 nil lead courtesy of goals from Damion Keegan and Stuart Telfer 2 .
After the break East Manchester hit back with two goals in a minute but Walshaw held on meaning by Saturday 3 points would be enough to guarantee the title.
Old Alts were the visitors to King Georges and the home side got the perfect start when youngster Connor Gateley ghosted in at the far post to score in the first minute . Carl Ashley soon made it two after great work from Lee Bruce.
Walshaw stepped off the gas and Old Alts were back in it ten minutes into the second half, a nervy 15 minutes followed before Walshaw again regained control and finally wrapped the game up and the title with a 88 minute Damion Keegan penalty.
Congratulation to Mick Kenny and all the reserve team squad for taking the reserve title and at the first time of asking !!!
